Frontline Strong Together (FST5) is a statewide initiative created to support Police Officers, Firefighters, EMS personnel, Correctional Officers, 911 Dispatchers, and their immediate families.
Developed through a collaboration between mental health professionals and first responders, FST5 understands the unique demands, challenges, and emotional toll that come with frontline service.
This community-based program offers 24/7 professional and confidential support, along with evidence-based resources and innovative tools designed to help prevent and ease PTSD, anxiety, depression, and job-related stress. The goal is to strengthen the mental health, resilience, and overall well-being of Michigan’s first responder community.
Funded by a State of Michigan grant, FST5 is led by Wayne State University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences in partnership with first responder unions and stakeholder organizations. Together, they are working to support first responders and their families in overcoming invisible injuries, reducing occupational stress, and improving quality of life across all 83 Michigan counties.
